NSF's USAP vision is "to advance discovery, innovation, and education beyond the frontiers of current knowledge and empower future generations in science and engineering."  Today’s USAP stands at the threshold of transformational science and technology.

   TransPolar is specifically designed as the manpower behind the USAP.  Transformational research creates increased tempo and complexity.  We have but one agenda: to support the NSF in meeting the challenges that lie ahead.  We have no conflicting agendas.  The TransPolar Team has been assembled to deliver advanced thinking that serves the dynamics and vision of the USAP.
 
   I personally believe that the TransPolar partnership is both new and exciting.  TransPolar will bring both the field experience to incorporate the critical lessons already learned and a new vision backed by strategic planning and technical expertise to advance scientific achievement.  I know first hand that Antarctica is much more than a job ... it is an opportunity to make a difference.  I am proud to be a link to both the current experience and the future vision.  I will lead TransPolar's effort to usher in a new era of cooperative thinking, advanced planning, and improved connectivity to the people, science, and technologies required to serve the needs of the USAP.
