TransPolar sees Alternative Power issuing in a new age of electrical sustainability as we begin the process of "Greening the White Continent." Antarctic is the windiest place on earth. During austral summer, it has the greatest solar penetration of any continent, making the Antarctic an obvious environment to apply highly reliable alternative power systems. TransPolar will use new energy initiatives supporting extreme environments to guide a growing set of topics, from general program efficiencies to program cost reduction, and ultimately move toward substantial carbon reduction in the cleanest place on earth.
TransPolar is an active member of the US Wind Power Association and US Solar Power Association. We will leverage SAIC's broad network with alternative power systems used to support the US Space Program. In addition, TransPolar has an exclusive agreement with the University of Utah, a leader in wind power energy initiatives as well as an agreement with the International Polar Foundation's Sustainability Technology Division to explore sustainability opportunities.
TransPolar will explore partnerships with other companies to apply the benefits of solar and wind power to offset costs, reduce the carbon footprint, and develop a plan to reduce the entire USAP footprint.
TransPolar is positioned and committed to meet these challenges.
